FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything?

Its always free to play, but we recommend making a purchase at the bar where you are playing.

How long is the game supposed to last?

Each regular trivia game lasts ~2 hours.

How many players are allowed on a team?

Up to 6 players are allowed to play on a team for both Trivia and Feud. This is strictly enforced at our tournaments, but during regular weekly play, hosts are given license to allow up to 8 players.

Where else can I play?

You can find a full schedule for your city at www.lastcalltrivia.com/schedule.

Where else are you located?

We are in cities all throughout the United States, so even when you’re travelling you can get your weekly dose of trivia.

How does the point wagering system work?

For each round, you have the opportunity to wager points with your answer. For example, in the first half of a trivia game, you can wager 1, 3, or 6 points with your answer. Since you can only use each wager once, you’ll choose your wager based on the amount of confidence you have in your answer. This wagering system allows you and your teammates to use strategy during the Trivia game.

When is the theme round announced? How many points is it worth?

The theme round is announced after the 3rd question and before the bonus question. If you guess correctly, you get 2 points. You may guess as often as you like without a penalty.

Where do I find the hints?

The hints are on the first page at www.lastcalltrivia.com. Check back every week for new hints.

What can I bring with me?

Put away your phones and do not cheat. Nothing except the weekly hints may be written down prior to the start of the game.

(15 minutes into the show) Can I still play?

Of course! You can jump in at anytime.

What’s the difference between Trivia and Feud?

Last Call Trivia – A general knowledge trivia game, we ask questions in all sorts of categories from music to science and from history to television. We have teams assign one of three point wagers to their answers depending on their confidence level, as well as including the opportunity for bonus points, a halftime question, and a final question where teams can gain or lose between 0-15 points.

Last Call Feud – A game in which we challenge teams to identify the top surveyed answers rather than identifying the single correct answer. Who’s the most annoying celebrity? What athletic team is the most disliked? Survey says…this game is a blast to play! You can even become part of the show by answering survey questions right in your Dashboard.

How do we request songs we want to hear?

Let your host know about your favorite songs.

Do I have to buy food/drinks in order to play?

Playing any one of our Last Call Trivia shows is free. We ask that you patronize the bar or restaurant where you are enjoying a Last Call Trivia show.

What do we do if we think the host is going too fast or too slow? Our hosts are open to feedback. If you’re comfortable, ask him or her politely if they can help you out. Our shows are designed to last 2 hours, give or take a few minutes. If you feel there is a problem that needs addressed, please contact us at support@lastcalltrivia.com.
I have a general complaint about my host. We’re sorry to hear that, but we are eager to fix the problem. Please give us some information at support@lastcalltrivia.com.

The other guy plays hints in all of his songs, why don’t you? This is not encouraged. We believe that our shows are expertly written and do not need giveaway hints in the music.

Do you do anything other than Trivia?

Yes, we do! Apart from our Trivia show and Trivia league, we offer private and corporate events. We also have different types of bar entertainment that fall under the trivia category:

Last Call Trivia – A general knowledge trivia game, we ask questions in all sorts of categories from music to science and from history to television. We have teams assign one of three point wagers to their answers depending on their confidence level, as well as including the opportunity for bonus points, a halftime question, and a final question where teams can gain or lose between 0-15 points.

Last Call Feud – A game in which we challenge teams to identify the top surveyed answers rather than identifying the single correct answer. Who’s the most annoying celebrity? What athletic team is the most disliked? Survey says…this game is a blast to play! You can even become part of the show by answering survey questions from your dashboard.

How do I nominate a bar to host a Last Call Trivia show?

Simply send us an email with the information that you have: support@lastcalltrivia.com. We always appreciate when our fans spread the word about our shows.

What do we do if we think a team is cheating?

We recommend throwing food at them (cue Animal House mashed potatoes clip). That should get their attention. Or, just let your host know.

We do take cheating seriously. It’s no fun for all the other players using their genius minds if we let cheaters win. If you need to report a problem, please contact us at support@lastcalltrivia.com.

How can I be notified of cancellations?

You can find out about cancellations and changes to your favorite shows at lastcalltrivia.com.

I don’t have a Last Call Trivia show near me. How can I get in on the fun?

We’re glad you asked. The simplest way to get in on the fun is to contact support@lastcalltrivia.com. Let us know about your favorite bars or restaurants in the area and we’ll make some calls.

Community Guidelines

You’re smart, social, and competitive. You’re a Trivia player. You’ll find a passionate group of people just like you around Last Call Trivia. Please be respectful of each other and have fun!

How does the league work?

The league is 12 weeks long. Your team can register for free anytime at www.lastcalltrivia.com. You’ll get an email confirmation with a 4-digit number. Every time you play trivia, let your host know this number. Play 6 trivia games with that number and you could qualify to attend the tournament.

When you sign up for the league, you’ll get more detailed information about your city’s league format. Learn more about league numbers here.

We give away gift cards, surprises, and other huge cash prizes!

Can we change our team name?

Yes. If you are a league team, you can use the 4 digit number you were assigned when you enrolled. At the start of the trivia show, tell your host that number (so he or she can record your score) and whatever name you’d like to use for the evening.

Can I be the team captain for more than one team?

Unfortunately, our system cannot accept the same team captain (i.e., email address) for multiple teams. Please use a different email address for additional teams.

Can I play on multiple league teams?

As of April 2016, we will enforce the following rule regarding players on multiple teams: If the makeup of multiple teams is 1/3 or more identical (players), only one league number may used during league play. These teams may play as many times as they like throughout the week, but only one of these teams may qualify for an invitation to the league tournaments.

Can we get scores added to the scoreboard after we enroll in the league?

We don’t encourage this, but we will attend to each team on a case-by-case basis. Talk to us at support@lastcalltrivia.com.

Do we need to re-enroll in the league after the Finals?

You do not need to re-enroll if you already have a team ID; your ID is good forever.

Do the all of the games (i.e., Trivia and Feud) scores count toward the league?

Trivia scores count toward the trivia league. Feud scores count toward the Feud league (available only in certain cities). Scores from theme shows and special events do not count toward the league.

I’m having trouble enrolling in the league.

The common problem teams face when enrolling in the league is when a team name has a special character in it. You might try to enroll again using only letters. If you continue to have problems, please get in touch.

When do scores get posted?

It usually takes a couple of days to get scores up on the scoreboard. We give our hosts up to 1 week to turn in their scores and information to our League Manager. If you are concerned about a score or have any questions, please email us at support@lastcalltrivia.com.

What is the format of the tournament?

The format is the same as any normal trivia game you may have played during the league. There are 18 questions, bonus questions, a halftime, and a final question. The theme round is announced after the 3rd question of the round and before the bonus question.

There are no hints online for tournament games. No cell phones will be allowed on or near the table and parties stepping away from the table at anytime will only be able to rejoin once the answer from their team has been submitted. The Finals can run from 2 to 3 hours (including awarding the cash prizes) as there are a lot of teams.

City Tournament Finals

At the end of each league, each city will host a City Tournament Finals. The details are specific to each city. You can find more information on the League Rules & Info page.

What is Ludimentis?

Ludimentis is our annual national trivia tournament. The name comes from our version of the latin phrase “game of the mind”.

We take the best teams from the Last Call Trivia Nation and put on a production like you’ve never seen before.

Why do you ask for the names of 4 players?

On the Ludimentis RSVP form, we request the names of your team members in an effort to encourage consistency in team makeup throughout league play.

How do you get an invitation to Ludimentis?

Learn more at lastcalltrivia.com/ludimentis and sign up for our newsletter to get the latest information.

Bar “X” pays $50 to their winners, why does this bar only pay $15?

Prizes are decided upon by the bar. If you have a concern about prize amounts, please get in touch with us support@lastcalltrivia.com and we’ll see what we can do about it.

Are the questions the same all week?

We have new shows for every night of the week, so you’ll never hear repeat questions. Play as often as you like!

Who writes the questions?

We have a team of brilliant writers and creatives who work on the questions. Learn more about them on the About Us page.

Can I write questions?

You are more than welcome to submit ideas for questions, categories, or theme rounds to support@lastcalltrivia.com. If we end up using it, you’ll get credit at the show in which it is used.

Want to work with us?

We have a work-hard, play-hard mentality at Last Call Trivia and we’re always interested in hearing from like-minded individuals. Shoot us an email at support@lastcalltrivia.com and tell us a little bit about yourself.

I created an account, but I don’t see my team.

Since you already created an account, all you need to do now is create a team. You can do that by visiting the My Account page at http://www.lastcalltrivia.com/my-account/. At the bottom left portion of the page, select Create A New Team. Then, invite your teammates by using their email addresses. This will only work if they’ve also created an account. Be sure to use the email they signed up with. They’ll receive a notification on their own My Account pages.

How do I join a team?

If your team captain already created your team, they will need to send you an invitation to join the team. They must use the email address you used to sign up for an account.

You will receive a notification on the “My Account” page.

Where do I find my league number?

You’ll find your league number about halfway down on the “My Account” page at http://www.lastcalltrivia.com/my-account/.

My league number isn’t 4 digits.

You’re one of the early birds who signed up for the league in the new website’s infancy. High five! If your league number has fewer than 4 digits, you may simply add leading zeros to make it work. The system recognizes both xx and 00xx.
